Israeli colonists kill Palestinian, critically injure another in northern West Bank village

QALQILIYA: Israeli colonists killed a Palestinian and critically injured another in an attack on the village of Jit, east of the occupied West Bank city of Qalqilya, according to the Health Ministry.

It reported that the body of a villager who was killed and another critically injured in the chest arrived at the Rafidia Government Hospital in Nablus.

The individual killed was identified as Rashid Mahmoud Sedda, 22 years old.

Local sources said that armed colonists mounted an attack against the western area of the village, setting several vehicles ablaze and opening fire towards a villager, critically wounding him.

Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that its medics provided first aid treatment to the villager, who sustained a chest wound, and rushed him to a hospital, where his condition was described as critical.

Colonist violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Colonist violence includes property and mosque ars
ons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

There are over 700,000 Israeli colonists living in colonial settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
