Israeli forces detain 30 Palestinians, most from the West Bank’s Hebron area

RAMALLAH: Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of detentions across the West Bank last night and early this morning, detaining 30 Palestinians, most of them from the Hebron district in the south of the West Bank.

The Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) said in a joint press statement that the detentions took place in multiple governorates, of Jenin, Hebron, Ramallah, Qalqilya, and Jericho.

Meanwhile, at least 16 Palestinians were detained by occupation forces during a large-scale detention campaign in the city of Hebron.

The raids were marked by violence and intimidation, said the statement. Witnesses reported that the detainees and their families were subjected to threats, and extensive damage was inflicted on their homes during the raids. The Israeli forces also engaged in widespread property destruction.

According to the two organizations, since the onset of the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, over 1
0,000 Palestinians have been detained from the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
