Journalist Amal Zahd and members of her family were brutally murdered last night in an Israeli airstrike which targeted their home in Gaza City. The crime adds to the toll of journalists who have fallen victim to the continuous Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip.

With the murder of journalist Zahd, the number of journalists killed in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7 now stands at 64.

Just yesterday, photojournalist Mohammed Ayash and several members of his family were killed in an Israeli airstrike which targeted their residence in the Nusseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

Earlier this week, an Israeli artillery shelling targeted a team of journalists from Al Mayadeen TV in southern Lebanon, murdering the channel’s correspondent, Farah Omar, and photographer, Rabih Maamari.

The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate had previously reported the murder of 63 journalists since the beginning of the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip on October 7.

Additionally, 31 jour
nalists have been detained during the same period, including 29 in the West Bank and two in Gaza.

Further, the whereabouts of two journalists, Nidal Al Wahidi and Huthaym Abdulwahid, remain unknown in Gaza after 48 days of Israeli onslaught.
