Manama, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), received the senior men’s team, as well as the youth and junior teams, in celebration of their qualification for the 2025 World Championship, alongside the junior team’s victory in the Arab Cup.

The event was attended by His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of GSA, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of BOC, Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of GSA, Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary-General of BOC, and Ali Isa Ishaqi, President of the Bahrain Handball Federation (BHF).

HH Shaikh Khalid stated that Bahrain’s handball achievements reflect the determination and commitment of its athletes to reach global levels and enhance the reputation of Bahraini sports.

HH Shaikh Khalid noted that the continued success of handball is a resu
lt of the unwavering support from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as well as the dedication of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, and Chairman of the SCYS.

HH Shaikh Khalid expressed pride in the teams’ achievements, noting that their qualification is a testament to the efforts of the players, coaching, and administrative staff.

He commended the role of the Bahrain Handball Federation, led by Ishaqi, in advancing the sport and supporting national teams.

HH Shaikh Khalid highlighted the need for continued hard work and perseverance as the teams prepare for the World Cup. He expressed full confidence in the players and coaching staff, voicing his hopes for further successes in upcoming tournaments and emphasising that these achievements are crucial steps toward more global recognition for Bahrain. He wished the teams suc
cess in raising Bahrain’s profile on the international stage.

Ishaqi expressed his gratitude for the reception, acknowledging the support of HM the King and thanking HH Shaikh Khalid for his ongoing encouragement, which continues to inspire the federation and national teams. He also appreciated the support from the General Sports Authority and the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
