Manama, Nibras Mohammed Talib, CEO of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and Chairman of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons (NCCTIP), received A.K.M. Mohiuddin Kayes, Chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of Bangladesh to Bahrain
The CEO highlighted the role of embassies and diplomatic missions in supporting governmental efforts to raise awareness among expatriate workers about their rights and obligations within the regulatory systems. This ensures a work environment that safeguards the rights of all parties.
The meeting also reviewed several pioneering initiatives launched by the Kingdom in this field, including the development of a wage protection system and an International Bank Account Number (IBAN) for each expatriate worker through Bahrain International Airport. These measures aim to encourage the electronic transfer of wages, ensuring the rights of all relevant parties.
