Lower House Speaker Engages German Delegation on Diplomatic Anniversary


Rabat: The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, received a delegation from the German federal parliament (Bundestag) on Thursday, who are visiting the Kingdom to mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Germany.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, during the meeting, Talbi Alami discussed the major reforms and projects Morocco has undertaken under the leadership of King Mohammed VI. He also acknowledged Germany’s supportive stance regarding Morocco’s territorial integrity and the autonomy proposal, as noted in a press release from the House of Representatives.



The discussions also emphasized the strong cooperative ties between the legislative bodies of both nations. These ties are reflected in the exchange of experiences, expertise, and parliamentary visits, along with shared positions in various international parliamentary forums.



The meeting also covered issues of mutual interest, focusing on family, women, youth, the environment, and renewable energy. Talbi Alami underscored Morocco’s achievements in these areas under King Mohammed VI’s leadership.



In a press statement, MP Sanae Abdi, part of the Parliamentary Friendship Group for Relations with the Maghreb States and spokesperson for economic cooperation and development in the Bundestag, highlighted that the visit aims to bolster parliamentary cooperation, particularly in economic and human development sectors. She commended Morocco for its progress on multiple fronts and expressed Germany’s readiness to share experiences and skills.
