Rabat: Morocco’s Lower House Speaker Rachid Talbi El Alami received a high-level parliamentary delegation from the Gambian National Assembly, currently on a working visit to Morocco from February 10 to 15. The meeting took place at the Seat of the House in Rabat.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Gambian National Assembly, Billay G. Tunkara, emphasized that the visit aims to explore Morocco’s development projects and gain insight into its parliamentary practices.
The Gambian delegation expressed its support for the Royal Atlantic Initiative, highlighting the strong historical ties between Morocco and Gambia and their mutual commitment to further strengthening these relations.
Talbi El Alami provided the delegation with an overview of the Moroccan parliament’s competences and the democratic, human rights, and institutional advancements the Kingdom has achieved. He also discussed Morocco’s efforts toward economic and social development.
The Lower House Speaker expressed gratitude for Gambia’s support of Morocco’s territorial integrity, underscoring the importance of continued collaboration between the two nations.
