MEDays 2025 Highlights Morocco’s Strategic Influence and Geopolitical Role


Tangier: MEDays 2025 has reaffirmed Morocco’s position as a power of balance on the global stage, as emphasized in a statement by the event’s organizers. The Forum’s proceedings reflected the scope of HM King Mohammed VI’s multidimensional vision, showcasing Morocco’s proactive diplomacy, strategic consistency, and commitment to sovereignty and African integration, which have positioned the nation as a crucial actor in international dialogue.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the 2025 edition welcomed 300 speakers and 8,500 participants from nearly 130 countries, demonstrating that MEDays is not just a platform for debate but a strategic Forum for the convergence and affirmation of positions concerning Morocco, Africa, and the Global South. The Kingdom’s influence is acknowledged as a cornerstone of the evolving international balance.



This edition coincided with the 50th anniversary of the Green March, a symbol of national unity and sovereignty, and followed the historic adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2797, endorsing the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative as a credible solution to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara. Heads of State, Prime Ministers, and international officials present in Tangier expressed support for the Moroccanity of the Sahara.



The Royal Atlantic Initiative was a focal point in discussions, highlighting the geostrategic importance of an integrated Atlantic African space founded on connectivity, strategic autonomy, collective security, and co-development. The presence of numerous Heads of State, Prime Ministers, and international leaders elevated MEDays 2025 to the status of a significant global geopolitical conference.



Additionally, the MEDays Investment Summit (MIS) served as the Forum’s economic pillar, bringing together investors, sovereign wealth funds, and industry leaders. Discussions reinforced Morocco’s role in infrastructure, green hydrogen, clean energy, industrial transformation, food sovereignty, and digital transition.



The Forum also featured participation from over 3,500 Moroccan and African students, underscoring MEDays as an inclusive and dynamic platform rooted in knowledge-sharing and civic engagement. Innovation was a key theme, with forty Moroccan startups participating for the first time, showcasing technological solutions that enhance digital sovereignty, industrial transformation, and national competitiveness.
