Tangier: Speaking at the opening of the 17th edition of the MEDays International Forum, The Gambia’s President Barrow highlighted the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI for Africa. He noted that Morocco, under the enlightened guidance of the Sovereign, shapes and redefines South-South cooperation through royal visits, multiple cooperation agreements, and tangible achievements.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the Gambian President also commended the progress made in the southern provinces, emphasizing that Morocco’s autonomy plan constitutes “the only credible basis for a sustainable solution” to the regional dispute. He noted that this momentum is now being followed by many African countries.

He further affirmed that the cooperation between Rabat and Banjul represents “a strong partnership,” expressing The Gambia’s willingness to collaborate with the Kingdom to support “Africa’s growth and development.” Barrow also called for Africa to become a continent of solutions and for the
reinvention of international cooperation models, in order to promote stability, innovation, and sustainable development.

Organized under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and initiated by the Amadeus Institute, the MEDays Forum is one of the continent’s leading events. It brings together each year heads of state, political leaders, experts, and international stakeholders.

This edition of the Forum, held from 26 to 29 November under the theme ‘Fractures and Polarization: Reinventing the Global Equation,’ features around fifty sessions covering a wide range of major geostrategic topics. The focus is on the challenges, opportunities, and issues facing Africa and the Global South.
