The Minister of National Economy, Mohamed Al-Amour, announced that significant efforts are being made alongside international partners to pressure the Israeli government to reopen the crossings into Gaza and eliminate obstacles and restrictions on commercial traffic via the Karama/Allenby/King Hussein Bridge crossing with Jordan.

In two separate meetings, the minister met with Hans Wechsel, the Chief of the U.S. Office of Palestinian Affairs in Jerusalem, and Domenico Pilato, the Italian consul general, to discuss key economic concerns.

The two separate meetings highlighted the importance of facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza and enhancing trade between the northern and southern governorates.

The minister called for increased pressure on the Israeli government to reopen the Gaza crossings, remove barriers to commercial traffic through the King Hussein Bridge and allow the entry of aid trucks whose suppliers are facing financial losses due to the Israeli blockade.

Both international officia
ls reaffirmed their commitment to following up on these issues with the Israeli government, emphasizing ongoing efforts to support the Palestinian private sector in fulfilling its role.
