Mohammed V Foundation Launches Medical Campaign in Oued Amlil to Aid Rural Communities

Oued amlil: The Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity is set to launch its 2026 program of local medical campaigns with a medical and surgical operation scheduled from March 13 to 15 in the commune of Oued Amlil, located in the province of Taza. This initiative, coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan, is aimed at benefiting rural populations by providing essential healthcare services.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the operation is part of the Foundation’s efforts to improve healthcare accessibility for rural communities. It will focus on serving the residents of Oued Amlil and neighboring communes such as Ghyata Al Gharbiya, Bab Boudir, and Bni Frassen. The campaign offers specialized consultations and surgical procedures, addressing the pressing demand for such services in the region.

The medical team will cover a range of specialties, including pediatrics, gynecology-obstetrics, cardiology, rheumatology, ophthalmology, nephrology, urology, dermatology, and dental care. Cataract surgeries are also planned, following patient screenings in Taza on March 6 and 7. The campaign aims to treat approximately 1,000 patients daily and conduct around 130 cataract surgeries.

The activities will be concentrated at a single site in Oued Amlil, organized into two distinct circuits for consultations and surgical procedures. This structure ensures efficient and safe patient management. The Foundation will deploy mobile medical units, including ophthalmology, radiology, laboratory, dental, and pharmacy services, alongside two surgical units provided by the Moroccan Medical Association of Solidarity.

Nearly 100 personnel will be involved in the operation, including 33 specialist doctors, 12 general practitioners, and 32 nurses and technicians, supported by the Foundation’s teams. The initiative is carried out with assistance from local authorities, the Fez University Hospital Center, the Provincial Health Delegation of Taza, the Higher Institute of Nursing and Health Techniques of Taza, and the Moroccan Medical Association of Solidarity.

This campaign continues the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to enhance access to specialized healthcare. In 2025, the Foundation organized six medical and surgical campaigns across various provinces, providing thousands of surgeries and healthcare services to a significant number of beneficiaries.

The Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity remains committed to improving healthcare access for vulnerable populations in rural areas, contributing to the sustainable enhancement of living conditions, the statement concludes.
