Rabat: A total of 27,642 children benefited in 2025 from the program to support the schooling of children with disabilities, under the Social Cohesion Support Fund in the field of disability, the Secretary of State in charge of Social Integration, Abdeljabbar Rachidi, said on Tuesday.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Rachidi, while speaking during question time at the House of Councillors, stated that support for the schooling of these children is facilitated through a partnership with 437 associations active in the disability sector. This support includes financial assistance amounting to a monthly MAD 1,200 per child. He also mentioned that the budget allocated to this program increased from MAD 166 million in 2021 to MAD 396 million in 2025.
Rachidi emphasized the crucial role of Entraide Nationale as the government’s executive arm in implementing this program, alongside partner associations that perform significant work. He clarified that the program is primarily aimed at rehabilitation and social integration, rather than formal schooling, which remains the responsibility of the Ministry of National Education as a right guaranteed by the Constitution, laws, and international conventions.
Interventions by the centers under this program focus on enhancing the autonomy of persons with disabilities, supporting their social participation, rehabilitation, and providing paramedical services. Rachidi noted that approximately 30% of the beneficiaries are from rural areas.
