Moroccan and Bahraini Leaders Discuss Parliamentary Cooperation at Marrakech Forum


Marrakech: Speaker of the Moroccan House of Councillors Mohamed Ould Errachid held talks on Friday with Speaker of the Council of Representatives of the Kingdom of Bahrain Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, and President of the Assembly of the Republic of Northern Macedonia Afrim Gashi, on the sidelines of the 3rd Marrakech Economic Parliamentary Forum for the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf regions.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the meeting between Ould Errachid and Al-Musallam highlighted the robust fraternal relations between Morocco and Bahrain, guided by the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His Majesty King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa.



The discussions emphasized a mutual commitment to enhancing parliamentary cooperation on both bilateral and multilateral fronts, aiming to intensify the exchange of experiences between the legislative bodies of the two nations. The agenda also included various issues of mutual interest pertinent to the economic and development challenges faced by the Mediterranean and Gulf regions. Both leaders acknowledged the pivotal role of national parliaments and parliamentary organizations in navigating major regional and international changes by developing legislative frameworks, fostering constructive initiatives, and bolstering communication among parliamentary, economic, academic, and civil society stakeholders.



In a similar meeting with Afrim Gashi, Ould Errachid reiterated the importance of strengthening parliamentary ties between Morocco and North Macedonia to foster cooperation across various fields. This cooperation is deemed vital in addressing the growing challenges in the Euro-Mediterranean region and globally. Both praised the House of Councillors for its initiative in organizing the Forum, which has evolved into a premier parliamentary platform for enhancing dialogue and coordination between national and regional parliaments, aiming to promote peace, stability, and sustainable development.
