Moroccan Business Growth: Over 60,000 New Enterprises Created in Early 2026


Rabat:Morocco established 60,908 businesses from January to July 2026, according to the Moroccan Office for Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC).



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, these new businesses consist of 45,898 legal entities and 15,010 individual enterprises. The Single-Member Limited Liability Company (SARL AU) is the most popular legal structure, making up 65% of all corporate registrations, followed by the Limited Liability Company (SARL) at 33.9%.



The Casablanca-Settat region leads in new corporate business formations, contributing 39.3% of the total. It is followed by Rabat-Sal©-Kenitra (14.5%), Marrakech-Safi (12.3%), and Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (10.8%). Together, these regions account for 76.9% of the new corporate entities nationwide.



In terms of sectors, most newly established corporate entities are in commerce (27.22%), followed by construction, public works and real estate (25.28%), miscellaneous services (20.03%), transportation (7.63%), and manufacturing (6.3%).



For sole proprietorships, the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region ranks first with 20.6% of registrations, followed by Casablanca-Settat at 13.2% and Rabat-Sal©-Kenitra at 10.7%.



Additionally, OMPIC issued 77,883 trade names (negative certificates) during the first seven months of 2026.
