Moroccan Doctors’ Delegation Participates in 2025 Sydney Marathon


Sydney: A delegation of Moroccan doctors took part in the 2025 Sydney Marathon, showcasing the professional expertise of Morocco in the global event. The group included medical professionals from various specialties such as Commander Aresmouk Aziz, radiologist Belhoucine Abdelfettah, geriatrician Oudghiri Mustapha, anesthetist-resuscitator Mjahed Khalid, and gastroenterologist Haddad Fouad.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the delegation also comprised ophthalmologist Dkhissy Mohcine, traumatologist Fnini Salah, ENT specialist Laraqi Zine Elabidine, third-year medical student Haddad Mohamed, and biomedical engineer Dkhissy Zineb. Moroccans residing in Australia provided encouragement and support to the delegation, fostering a strong sense of solidarity and national pride among the Moroccan diaspora.



The Moroccan delegation was honored at a reception hosted by the Kingdom’s ambassador to Australia, Wassane Zailachi, in Sydney. The event was attended by Australian MPs, media representatives, and notable members of the Moroccan community, highlighting the significance of the delegation’s participation.



Notably, the 2025 TCS Sydney Marathon joined the prestigious ‘Abbott World Marathon Majors’ for the first time, aligning with renowned marathons in Boston, London, Tokyo, New York, Berlin, and Chicago. The marathon route featured Sydney’s iconic landmarks, including the Harbour Bridge, the Opera House, The Rocks, the city center, and Centennial Park, with large crowds and international media coverage adding to the event’s prominence.
