Stuttgart: Stuttgart has secured the services of Moroccan midfielder Bilal El Khannouss on a loan deal from Leicester City, set to last until 2026. The 21-year-old, who has already made a name for himself with 32 Premier League appearances and 61 matches in Belgium’s top flight, will don the number 11 jersey at Stuttgart’s MHP Arena.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, El Khannouss expressed optimism about his new venture, stating, “My first impressions are very positive. I’m looking forward to what the future holds. I can’t wait to get started and get to know my teammates better.”
VfB Stuttgart’s sporting director, Fabian Wohlgemuth, expressed satisfaction with the acquisition, highlighting El Khannouss’s versatility and international experience. “Having reached an agreement for Bilal El Khannouss,” Wohlgemuth noted, “he’s a young player with tremendous potential, able to play centrally but also on the wings. His international experience, gained in European leagues and with the Moroccan national team, makes him a real asset for our squad.”
El Khannouss joined Leicester City in the summer of 2024, when the club was still part of the Premier League, contributing two goals and three assists in his 32 league appearances. Alongside his club career, his involvement with the Moroccan national team has further bolstered his credentials on the international stage.
In related news, another member of the Moroccan national team, Eliesse Ben Seghir, has also made a move within the Bundesliga, signing a five-year contract with Bayer Leverkusen from AS Monaco.
