Moroccan National Football Team Lands at Rabat-Salé Airport After World Cup Quarter-Final Exit


Rabat: The Moroccan national football team arrived on Sunday, from Boston, at the Rabat-Salé Airport, following its participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, co-organized by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the Moroccan national team was eliminated from the competition in the quarter-finals after a two to nil loss against France. This concluded an impressive campaign that solidified their position among the world’s top national teams and showcased the continued development of Moroccan football.

The Atlas Lions finished the group stage in second place with 7 points, narrowly edged out on goal difference by group leaders Brazil. Their group stage matches included a draw against Brazil (1-1) and victories over Scotland (1-0) and Haiti (4-2).

Mohamed Ouahbi’s squad moved to the round of 16 after defeating the Netherlands (1-1 at full time and AET, 3-2 after penalties). They advanced to the quarter-final round by handing Canada a decisive 3-0 defeat.
