Rabat: The Moroccan people join the Royal Family in celebrating, with joy and communion, the 56th birthday of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid on Saturday. This happy event provides an opportunity for all Moroccans to express their warmest congratulations and sincere wishes of happiness and long life to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, and the entire August Royal Family.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid was born in Rabat on June 20, 1970, and has an impressive academic background. He graduated with honors in May 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in Public Law (Internal Administration) and a diploma in Comparative Law from the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences in Rabat. Three years later, he obtained his second Certificate of Advanced Studies (International Relations option) with honors. His Royal Highness publicly defended a doctoral thesis in Law on May 18, 2001, at the Universit© Montesquieu-Bordeaux IV, receiving the distinction “Very Honorable with the congratulations of the jury and special mention for its publication.”
From an early age, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid has been involved in cultural, social, and sporting activities, demonstrating his commitment to public service. He has chaired the National Federation of Moroccan Scouting since 1997, revitalizing the organization. Additionally, he presides over the Royal Moroccan Hunting Arms Shooting Federation, the Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation, and the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association. Since January 2018, he has also been the president of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation.
HRH Prince Moulay Rachid plays a significant role in representing Morocco on the international stage. He chairs major events and official ceremonies and represents His Majesty the King at national and international events, promoting Morocco’s global and regional influence. Notably, on May 23, he and HRH Princess Lalla Meryem presided over the prize-giving ceremony for the winners of the 50th Hassan II Golf Trophy and the 29th Lalla Meryem Cup at the Royal Golf Dar Es-Salam in Rabat.
Previously, on April 20, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid presided over the opening ceremony of the 18th edition of the International Agricultural Show in Morocco (SIAM) in Meknes, organized under the theme ‘Sustainability of Animal Production and Food Sovereignty.’ On January 18, he presided over the final of the 35th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON Morocco 2025) at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
