Rabat: During their talks, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and Malawi’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr. George Chaponda, stated their commitment to further deepening cooperation and raising it to the level of the aspirations of the two Heads of State, His Majesty King Mohammed VI and H.E. Peter Mutharika.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the two ministers identified several key sectors to boost this cooperation, notably agriculture, with the goal of ensuring food security. They emphasized the importance of training to meet Malawi’s needs in technical assistance and skills development to contribute to its socioeconomic development. Additionally, they highlighted other prime sectors for the Malawian government, such as health, higher education, and energy.
At the regional and multilateral levels, both officials underlined the importance of intensifying their cooperation to further harmonize their positions within regional, continental, and international bodies, including the African Union and the United Nations.
