Rabat: Speaker of Morocco’s House of Representatives Rachid Talbi El Alami held talks on Monday in Rabat with Jos© de Almeida Ces¡rio, the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Portuguese Communities Committee of the Portuguese Assembly of the Republic. The meeting was part of Ces¡rio’s working visit to Morocco, aimed at bolstering parliamentary relations between the two nations at both bilateral and multilateral levels.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the discussions underscored the historic ties between Morocco and Portugal and highlighted the major development projects initiated by the Kingdom. These projects, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, have positioned Morocco as a model in several fields both continentally and internationally. The meeting also reviewed developments concerning Morocco’s territorial integrity, praising Portugal’s support for Morocco’s 2007 Autonomy Initiative and commitment to international legality.
Talbi El Alami emphasized Morocco’s dedication to resolving disputes peacefully, respecting state sovereignty and territorial integrity, in line with the High Guidelines of His Majesty the King. The discussions also focused on enhancing relations between the legislative bodies of both countries. The officials explored opportunities for strengthening ties through parliamentary visits and sharing experiences and expertise.
Moreover, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and Ces¡rio exchanged views on various regional and international issues of mutual parliamentary interest, reflecting the countries’ commitment to fostering stronger legislative collaboration.
