Morocco and Russia Explore Enhanced Connectivity in Montreal


Montreal: Morocco and Russia recently engaged in discussions aimed at reinforcing maritime, air, and land connectivity between the two nations. The meeting, attended by Morocco’s ambassador to Canada, Souriya Otmani, centered on enhancing cooperation in civil aviation.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the discussions occurred during the 42nd Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), where Morocco was represented by a large delegation led by Mr. Kayouh. This event underscores Morocco’s commitment to the sustainable development and security of civil aviation, as well as its desire to strengthen international cooperation in this strategic sector, as highlighted by the Ministry of Transport and Logistics.



During the assembly, Morocco is set to present its candidacy for membership in the ICAO Council, signaling its intention to take an active role in global civil aviation governance. Additionally, the Moroccan delegation plans to conduct a series of bilateral meetings with officials from other countries and representatives of international organizations, with the goal of enhancing technical and operational cooperation in various aspects of civil aviation.
