Morocco Arrests Two Canadians for International Drug Trafficking

Casablanca: Two Canadian nationals, aged 19 and 32, were arrested upon their arrival in Morocco for their alleged involvement in international drug trafficking. The apprehension took place after the suspects landed on a flight from Toronto, where authorities discovered nearly 134 kilograms of marijuana concealed in their luggage during routine security checks.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the suspects have been placed in custody and transferred to the Casablanca Prefectural Judicial Police. The police are conducting a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to uncover the international reach and possible connections related to this criminal activity.

This operation is part of broader efforts by the Directorate General of National Security to dismantle transnational drug trafficking networks and curb the smuggling of psychotropic substances.
