Rabat: Morocco’s women’s national football team secured a 4-0 win over Tanzania in a friendly match on Saturday at Rabat’s Olympic Stadium, as part of their preparations for the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Ibtissam Jraidi opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 28th minute, followed by goals from Ghizlane Chebbak (45′), Imène El Ghazouani (68′), and Najat Badri (75′).
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the match was the final tune-up for coach Jorge Vilda Rodriguez’s squad ahead of the continental tournament, which Morocco will host from July 5 to 26. Morocco will play the opening match of the tournament against Zambia on July 5 at 9 p.m. Group A also includes Senegal and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Group B features Nigeria, Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana, while Group C includes South Africa, Ghana, Mali, and Tanzania.
