Rabat: A heat wave, along with thunderstorms accompanied by hail and strong wind gusts, is expected to affect several provinces across Morocco from Saturday through Tuesday, the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) said.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, an orange-level weather alert has been issued, forecasting temperatures ranging from 42°C to 46°C from Saturday through Tuesday in the provinces of Assa-Zag, Tata, Boujdour, Oued Ed-Dahab, Aousserd, Es-Semara, and Zagora.

Additionally, temperatures between 38°C and 42°C are anticipated from Saturday through Monday in several other regions, including Taounate, Sidi Bennour, Youssoufia, Béni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, Meknes, Khenifra, Fez, Moulay Yacoub, Taroudant, Guelmim, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Khouribga, Settat, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Rehamna, Khemisset, Safi, Marrakech, and Ouezzane.

The same temperature range is expected for Sunday and Monday in areas such as Salé, Essaouira, Kenitra, Berrechid, Benslimane, Larache, Chichaoua, Skhirat-Téma
ra, Nouaceur, and El Jadida. Meanwhile, thunderstorms accompanied by hail and strong wind gusts, with rainfall amounts of 15 to 25 millimeters, are expected Saturday from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. in Ifrane, Midelt, Boulemane, and Khenifra.
