Morocco Emerges as Peaceful International Player Under King Mohammed VI’s Leadership: Belgian Expert

Brussels: In a world marked by turmoil, Morocco has emerged as a beacon of peace and a reliable player in international relations, attributed to the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, according to constitutional law expert and former Belgian senator Francis Delp©r©e.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Delp©r©e expressed these views during an interview with MAP-Brussels, coinciding with the 26th anniversary of King Mohammed VI’s accession to the throne. He highlighted Morocco as a model of a serene society and a balanced actor on a continental scale, contrasting its stability with the regional situation.

Delp©r©e emphasized Morocco’s “paramount role” in promoting regional peace and stability under the Sovereign’s leadership. As president of the Belgian association “Les Amis du Maroc” (Friends of Morocco), he also noted Morocco’s diplomatic successes, particularly its broad support from major global powers for a resolution to the Moroccan Sahara conflict via the Moroccan autonomy plan.

He pointed out that alongside “peace,” “development” is another defining trait of King Mohammed VI’s reign. This is evident in the creation of vast infrastructure and land development initiatives across the Kingdom. He also commended Morocco’s resilience in handling international crises such as health, energy, climate, and financial challenges, as well as its efficient response to the Al Haouz earthquake.

Discussing Morocco-Belgium relations, Delp©r©e praised the positive momentum in bilateral cooperation, highlighting political, security, economic, social, and cultural collaborations. He emphasized the contribution of the Moroccan community in Belgium to political, social, economic, and cultural life while maintaining strong ties to their homeland.
