Rabat: Morocco has emerged as a strategic hub linking Africa, Europe, and the Arab world under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, driven by a long-term development vision focused on resilience, forward planning, and openness, Chinese expert Wang Yongbao said.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, in an interview ahead of Morocco’s Throne Day celebrations, Wang, co-chairman of the Africa-China Cooperation Association for Development (ACCAD), emphasized that Morocco had established itself not only as “a pillar of stability in Africa” but also as a strategic platform connecting three major geographic regions. He described this transformation as “worthy of admiration and respect.”
Wang, who is also the chief executive of Chinese consultancy Revoneeds Investment Ltd, which supports Chinese companies expanding into emerging markets, attributed the country’s progress to the forward-looking vision of HM King Mohammed VI. He underlined that Morocco had succeeded in turning crises into opportunities while strengthening its resilience to external shocks through continued infrastructure development and the expansion of social protection.
He highlighted a series of large-scale projects across multiple sectors as evidence of Morocco’s ambition to deepen connectivity, accelerate industrialization, and reinforce its role as a gateway between continents. “Pragmatism combined with innovation is one of the key strengths of the Moroccan model,” Wang said, adding that advances in industry, renewable energy, and infrastructure were underpinned by coherent long-term planning, political stability, and an open economic policy that encourages diversified international partnerships.
Wang noted that Morocco’s development of major ports, Africa’s first high-speed rail line, and a modern motorway network mirrors China’s own development model, in which infrastructure serves as the foundation for economic growth. “Morocco is not only a gateway to Africa, but also a bridge between the Arab world and the African continent,” Wang said, adding that the country provides Chinese companies with a strategic platform for accessing both African and European markets.
