Morocco, EU Convene on Roadmap to Relaunch Parliamentary Ties.

Brussels: Morocco’s Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, and the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, convened, on Tuesday in Brussels, on a roadmap to relaunch parliamentary ties between the Moroccan and European parliaments.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Talbi Alami shared that during his talks with Metsola, they examined several subjects and agreed on a roadmap and a working method to rejuvenate cooperation between the Moroccan and European parliaments. This initiative aims to overcome the dysfunctions that have previously marred these relations.

Talbi Alami’s visit to the European hemicycle was at the invitation of Metsola. He emphasized her determination to re-establish and revitalize ties following the recent European elections and the restructuring of the European Parliament.

Furthermore, Talbi Alami highlighted the importance of respecting ‘Moroccan conditions’ to foster better relations between the two legislative bodies, emphasizing a framework
of mutual respect. Metsola, as noted by Talbi Alami, underlined Morocco’s significant role in the European neighborhood due to its political, economic, and social stability, achievements in various fields, and foreign policy under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI.
