Morocco, France Seal Several Cooperation, Partnership Agreements at 15th HLM


Rabat: Morocco and France have sealed on Thursday in Rabat several cooperation and partnership agreements as part of the 15th High Level Meeting (HLM), co-chaired by the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, and the French Prime Minister, S©bastien Lecornu.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, a letter of intention on cooperation in feminist foreign policy was signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-No«l Barrot, to bolster feminist diplomacy at ministerial and international levels.



A memorandum of understanding for financing the High-Speed Line program between Kenitra and Marrakech was signed by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah, and the French Minister of Economy, Finance and Industrial, Energy and Digital Sovereignty, Roland Lescure. Additionally, a joint declaration supplementing a memorandum confirming partnership implementation in the water sector was initialed by Fettah, Barrot, and the Director of the French Development Agency in Morocco, Catherine Bonnaud.



A declaration of intent regarding the teaching of the Arabic language and history-geography in French educational institutions in Morocco was also signed. This agreement, aimed at promoting bilingual skills, was inked by the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Mohamed Berrada, and the French Minister Delegate in charge of Francophonie and International Partnerships, El©onore Caroit.



On the same occasion, the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdessamad Kayouh, and his French counterpart, Philippe Tabarot, signed a three-year action plan for technical cooperation in civil aviation. Additionally, Kayouh signed a partnership agreement with Fran§ois Lambert, Director of the National Higher Maritime School in France, to consolidate scientific and educational exchanges with the Higher Institute of Maritime Studies in Morocco.



The Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, and Christelle Geneste Defaye, representative of the Director General of La Poste Group, concluded a cooperation agreement to adapt postal services to new challenges and strengthen collaboration.



In the cultural domain, declarations of intent were signed for artistic exchanges and cooperation in cinema and the moving image on the African continent. These were signed by the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, and his French counterpart, Catherine Pegard. Bensaid also signed a strategic partnership with Anne-Claire Legendre, President of the Arab World Institute, for cultural, intellectual, and civic initiatives.



A framework cooperation agreement covering areas like soil engineering and expertise in port, hydraulic, and maritime infrastructures was signed by Hammou Bensaadout, Director General of the Public Laboratory for Testing and Studies, and Etienne Crepon, Director General of the Center for Studies and Expertise on Risks, Environment, Mobility, and Urban and Country Planning.



Finally, a framework agreement for scientific cooperation in agriculture, veterinary medicine, and fisheries and aquaculture sciences was signed by Abdelaziz El Hraiki, Director of the Hassan II Agronomic and Veterinary Institute, and Jean-Paul Laclau, Deputy Director General for Research and Strategy at the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development.
