Rabat: The Reinforced Exceptional Partnership, envisioned by His Majesty King Mohammed VI and French President Emmanuel Macron, has now entered its full implementation phase, Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch stated Thursday in Rabat.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, this partnership is not only based on the deep historical ties between the Kingdom of Morocco and the French Republic, but also forms part of a shared strategic vision. This vision is founded on political convergence, renewed trust, and a common ambition to address major global challenges. Akhannouch made these remarks during a joint press briefing with French Prime Minister S©bastien Lecornu, following the 15th Morocco-France High-Level Meeting.
Akhannouch highlighted the progress made since President Macron’s state visit to Morocco in October 2024, noting that over 40 high-level visits and meetings have been held in less than two years. These gatherings have brought together governments, institutions, local authorities, economic operators, universities, and civil society to give concrete expression to the Reinforced Exceptional Partnership.
The presence of 22 Moroccan and French ministers at the meeting underscores the exceptional nature of this partnership and the shared commitment of the two governments, Akhannouch stated. He also pointed out that the political momentum is reflected in the economic cooperation agreements concluded, which complement the 22 strategic agreements signed in the presence of King Mohammed VI and President Macron in October 2024.
The agreements, valued at nearly £10 billion, demonstrate a commitment to sustainable economic transformation. The 11 new agreements and cooperation instruments adopted during the 15th High-Level Meeting further embody this commitment, covering areas such as health, transportation, civil aviation, decentralized cooperation, education, the Arabic language, and several strategic sectors.
Akhannouch noted that the political dialogue between Morocco and France is robust and well-structured, based on renewed trust and a convergence of views on key regional and international issues. Following the High Guidelines of King Mohammed VI, Morocco will continue to implement the Reinforced Exceptional Partnership. Strengthened monitoring mechanisms, including joint commissions, working groups, and sectoral committees, will ensure the fulfillment of commitments, accelerate ongoing projects, and identify new initiatives that align with the shared ambitions of both countries.
