Morocco Prioritizes Sustainable Mobility in Urban Planning, Minister Declares


Fez: At the opening of an international seminar in Fez focused on accessibility and mobility in urban and suburban areas, Morocco’s minister emphasized the nation’s commitment to modernizing its transport networks. The strategy aims to promote public and active transportation, while integrating new technologies to efficiently manage mobility flows and reduce carbon emissions.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the event is a significant gathering of mobility policymakers, experts, and researchers from across the globe. The seminar’s objective is to enhance dialogue, form new alliances, and develop common projects and ambitious policies for the creation of smarter, more sustainable cities.



The minister highlighted that mobility is considered a fundamental right and is crucial for social justice, economic development, and environmental sustainability. The seminar addressed pressing challenges faced by cities today, such as rapid urbanization, increasing congestion, environmental strain, and social fragmentation.



The event is organized by the Permanent Moroccan Association of Road Congresses (AMPCR), in collaboration with the World Road Association and the Private University of Fez (UPF), and is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Equipment and Water.
