Rabat: Morocco aspires to an effective and equitable partnership, particularly with Spain, aimed at sharing responsibilities related to migration and the protection of minors, said international affairs expert Mohamed Bouden on Wednesday. “Morocco is looking to the future, within the framework of a partnership based on mutual understanding and the sharing of responsibilities in managing migration flows with its partners, particularly Spain,” he told MAP.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Morocco, which adopts a multidimensional approach to irregular migration, is guided by the principle of shared responsibility while building on strengthened preventive measures. The Kingdom has consistently warned of the dangers associated with irregular migration, particularly for unaccompanied minors, who are targeted by anonymous calls, false messages, and misleading inducements, the expert recalled.

In this regard, he warned against the use of technology to spread suspicious calls, circulate rumors, and manipulate victims, stressing that Moroccan authorities operate within the framework of a sovereign and continuous monitoring system involving the various stakeholders. Far from being linked to a specific context or a particular call, this system is part of a daily effort that is strengthened and adapted whenever necessary to protect minors, he noted.

Bouden also stressed the need for sustained action with partners, particularly Spain, to ensure compliance with international law and bilateral agreements, while placing the best interests of children and minors at the heart of these efforts.
