Casablanca: The Kingdom of Morocco stands out as a major player in Safran’s industrial strategy due to its competitiveness and the quality of its talent, stated S©verine Charrie-Lamothe, Director of the Group’s Landing Gear and Integration Division.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, during the presentation and launch ceremony for the construction of a Safran Group landing gear production plant in Nouaceur, which was presided over by His Majesty King Mohammed VI at the Royal Palace in Casablanca, the official highlighted that this new site is expected to mobilize an investment of over 280 million euros. This investment aims to further improve Safran’s resilience and competitiveness.

The new infrastructure is designed to enhance the production of landing gears for short- and medium-haul aircraft and to support the production ramp-up of the Airbus A320 family. The factory is considered a crucial element of Safran’s industrial supply chain. The expertise and skills of Moroccan talent in the aeronautics sector were also praised.

The future factory plans to produce its first parts by 2029 and is expected to employ approximately 500 qualified professionals. These employees will receive support from local stakeholders through a specific training plan designed to meet tooling requirements.

Additionally, the Safran official expressed pride in Morocco as a major partner, highlighting that the Group employs nearly 5,000 workers across a dozen companies in the Kingdom. This development marks the continuation of a significant strategic partnership.
