Morocco Strengthens Strategic Ties with GCC During High-Level Talks


RABAT: Morocco’s Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, engaged in discussions with Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi, Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), during an official visit to Morocco on Thursday. The talks underscored the robust strategic partnership between Morocco and the GCC, reflecting the shared vision of King Mohammed VI and the leaders of GCC nations.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Akhannouch commended the GCC’s unwavering support for Morocco’s stance on the Sahara issue and its commitment to the Kingdom’s territorial integrity. He reiterated Morocco’s solidarity with GCC countries in safeguarding their sovereignty and territorial unity, and assured Morocco’s readiness to contribute to the security and stability of the Arab Gulf region.

The discussions also highlighted the mutual interest in enhancing cooperation between Moroccan and Gulf investors. Both parties emphasized the importance of increasing engagement of Gulf sovereign wealth funds i
n key sectors such as renewable energies, automotive, digital economy, infrastructure, and tourism. This collaboration is expected to be further explored during the upcoming Gulf-Morocco Investment Forum.
