RABAT: Morocco’s First Vice-Speaker of the House of Councillors, Abdelkader Salama, engaged in talks with the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi, during his official visit to Morocco. The meeting in Rabat focused on the enduring and robust relationship between Morocco and the Gulf States, which is anchored in a common historical and cultural foundation.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Salama highlighted the unwavering political commitment from both Moroccan and Gulf leaders to enhance their strategic partnership across various sectors, including political, economic, social, cultural, and security domains. He commended the Gulf States for their consistent support of Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, emphasizing that these positions reflect the strength of their strategic partnership and shared values.
Salama reiterated Morocco’s dedication to supporting the security and stability of the Gulf States amidst regi
onal challenges. He also stressed the Upper House’s commitment, as a constitutional parliamentary entity, to foster the growth of this unique partnership in alignment with King Mohammed VI’s vision for mutual development and prosperity.
Al Budaiwi, in response, acknowledged the exceptional relations between Morocco and the Gulf countries, expressing optimism that the upcoming strategic dialogue would further elevate these ties. He extended congratulations to Morocco on securing the 2030 World Cup hosting rights alongside Portugal and Spain, pledging the GCC States’ full support to ensure its success.
The meeting was attended by Councillors Lahcen Haddad and Mohamed Salem Ben Massoud, alongside the Upper House’s Secretary General, El Assad Zerouali, and the Director of External Relations and Communication, Saad Ghazi.
