Casablanca: Check-in and boarding pass issuance systems have been disrupted across Morocco in recent hours, following a major power outage in the Iberian Peninsula.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the outage affected international connections used by several telecommunications operators, particularly through servers based in Spain, the National Airports Office (ONDA) said in a press release. Airport teams are currently in close contact with support staff of the affected operators to restore the situation as quickly as possible, the agency assured.
In the meantime, Moroccan airports have switched to manual check-in and boarding procedures. ONDA advised passengers to contact their airlines before heading to the airport for updated flight information and urged travelers with confirmed flights to arrive early to complete formalities.
The agency said its teams were fully mobilized to assist passengers and limit disruptions, adding that it was coordinating with partners to resolve the issue as quickly
as possible.
