Morocco’s Azzedine Ounahi Receives Appropriate Medical Care

Rabat: Medical examinations have confirmed that Atlas Lions midfielder Azzedine Ounahi has suffered a calf muscle injury and is receiving appropriate medical care, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) said on Monday. The player has been officially reported injured, the Federation said on its website, adding that despite the injury, Ounahi will remain with the team and continue to support his teammates for the rest of the competition in a spirit of solidarity and cohesion.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, national coach Walid Regragui announced at a press conference on Sunday that the midfielder is unavailable for the remainder of the competition and will be out for five to six weeks. The Atlas Lions resumed training on Monday at the Mohammed VI Football Complex with a preparatory session the day after qualifying for the quarterfinals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The resumption of training took place in good conditions and enabled the national team’s technical staff to adapt
the training program to the players’ physical condition, following the latest intense match won against Tanzania (1-0), the FRMF concluded.
