Rabat: The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, and the Director General of the French insurers’ group, Benoit Leclair, have signed a significant partnership agreement, the DGSN announced in a statement.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the agreement establishes focal points and official communication channels between the DGSN and the French insurers’ group “Argos.” This is aimed at facilitating coordination in the search, identification, tracking, and recovery of stolen vehicles. Additionally, the agreement includes the development of training programs in relevant technical and scientific fields.
The agreement further allows the competent services of the DGSN access to the Argos database, which contains technical data provided by automobile manufacturers. It also provides Moroccan police with IT tools necessary for tracking and locating stolen vehicles.
This initiative is part of a broader program by the DGSN to modernize criminal investigation
methods used by judicial police services. This modernization effort emphasizes the use of modern technologies, support for police infrastructure, provision of advanced equipment and logistics, and the reinforcement of human resources dedicated to combating crime.
