Morocco’s Economy Expected to Grow by 4.7% in Late 2026

Baku:Morocco’s economic activity is forecasted to expand at a rate of 4.7% in the fourth quarter of 2026, contingent on stable energy prices and the absence of significant new disruptions, as projected by the High Commission for Planning (HCP).

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, this positive outlook largely relies on the recovery of extractive industries and related sectors. This recovery is anticipated as maintenance work concludes in the second and third quarters, and exports realign with the renewed cycle of fertilizer stock rebuilding in Latin American and African countries, as detailed in the HCP’s recent economic outlook report.

The growth is primarily driven by agriculture and services, which are expected to contribute approximately 4 percentage points to the overall growth in the fourth quarter of 2026. Additionally, domestic demand will continue to bolster growth through the end of the year, with household consumption projected to increase by 4.3% year-on-year in Q4-2026. This rise is supported by favorable bank financing conditions and renewed fiscal measures aimed at mitigating energy-related inflation.

Investment is also anticipated to increase by 6.8%, spurred by major infrastructure projects.
