Morocco’s El Haddaoui Earns Bronze at 2025 World Para Athletics Championships

Marrakech: El Haddaoui completed the race in 10.70 seconds, behind Brazil’s Petrucio Ferreira dos Santos, who won in 10.66 seconds, and China’s Shi Kangjun, who came second in 10.68 seconds. This is Morocco’s first medal in this competition, putting the national team on the scoreboard.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, El Haddaoui expressed his great satisfaction at having been able to reach the podium despite difficult training conditions due to injury. “This is my best performance of the year, which makes me very happy because I’ve had a difficult period with an injury that disrupted my training,” said the Moroccan athlete.

He added, “I tried to stay positive, work on my mental attitude, and focus on every detail to be ready for this world event,” highlighting that this medal proves he can “compete with the best.” El Haddaoui sees this achievement as an additional source of motivation and now intends to confirm his success in the 400m to “bring new joy” to Moroccans.

At the 2024 Paralympic Games i
n Paris, El Haddaoui had already made a name for himself by winning gold in the 400m, setting a new world record, as well as bronze in the 100m.
