Rabat: Morocco’s Foreign Minister held strategic discussions with the Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission in Rabat. These talks coincided with Ali Youssouf’s participation in the 58th Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) in Tangier from March 8 to April 3.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the meeting between the two parties focused on exploring ways to strengthen cooperation between Morocco and the AU Commission. This collaboration aims to support the objectives outlined in Agenda 2063. The discussions also included exchanging views on peace and security issues in Africa, as well as development initiatives and regional integration.
On this occasion, the Chairperson of the AU Commission commended Morocco’s contributions to the pan-African development, peace, and security agenda, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. Additionally, he acknowledged Morocco’s recen
t election to a third term on the Peace and Security Council last February.
