Rabat: Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Investment, Convergence and the Evaluation of Public Policies, Karim Zidane, highlighted on Thursday in Rabat the “distinguished level” reached by the fraternal and historic relations between Morocco and Egypt across various fields.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Zidane spoke at a reception organized by the Embassy of Egypt to mark the anniversary of the July 23 Revolution. He stressed that these relations draw their strength from deep ties between the two brotherly peoples, as well as from the High Care of the two countries’ leaders, His Majesty King Mohammed VI and President Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi.
Relations between Morocco and Egypt are “an extension of a shared history and an age-old civilization that have, across different eras, contributed to enriching Arab, Islamic and African cultures,” Zidane stated. He recalled that the two countries have, throughout history, served as hubs of civilizational and intellectual exchange promoting values of moderation, openness, solidarity, and dialogue among peoples.
For his part, Egyptian Ambassador Abdellatif noted that the two countries possess significant economic assets, accumulated expertise, and promising markets. He emphasized that strengthening economic cooperation is an “imperative necessity” within the framework of a strategic partnership based on complementarity and mutual interest.
The ambassador explained that such a partnership would encourage investment, boost trade, and establish industrial partnerships, thereby enhancing both countries’ access to African, Arab, and international markets. In this context, Abdellatif referred to the meeting of the Morocco-Egypt Coordination and Follow-up Commission, held last April in Cairo, which gave strong impetus to the implementation of this comprehensive partnership through signing several agreements covering vital sectors of common interest.
The reception was attended by personalities from the diplomatic, political, economic, cultural, and media spheres, as well as members of the Egyptian community residing in Morocco.
