Bamako: MEDI1TV has signed an agreement with Mali’s High Authority for Communication (HAC), granting the Moroccan news channel official authorization to establish, operate and broadcast its programs in Mali.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, MEDI1TV described the authorization as a major milestone in its continental expansion strategy and a reflection of the shared commitment of both institutions to promoting sovereign and open information focused on African realities and achievements.
Already present in Mali through Radio M©diterran©e Internationale (Medi 1), which has been broadcasting in Bamako on FM for several years, MEDI1TV said the agreement further reinforces its commitment to sustainable media cooperation to foster dialogue, knowledge-sharing and closer ties among African peoples.
The channel reaffirmed its adherence to the principles of journalistic ethics, balanced reporting and compliance with Mali’s regulatory framework, while expressing its intention to bolster cooperation with Malian audiovisual stakeholders through initiatives in training, expertise-sharing and digital innovation.
MEDI1TV noted that the agreement reflects the confidence established between the broadcaster and Mali’s media regulator, while also illustrating the strength of cooperation ties between Morocco and Mali and their shared ambition to support the development of a modern, professional and globally connected African media space.
Founded in 2006 as a bilingual rolling news channel serving the Maghreb, MEDI1TV has evolved into a multilingual and multi-platform media group with regional and continental reach, providing coverage of African and international news and promoting credible, pluralistic and accessible information across the continent.
