Rabat: The General Directorate for National Security (DGSN) has put in place advanced security protocols ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final between Morocco and Senegal. The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, conducted an on-site visit on Sunday afternoon at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, during which he reviewed the advanced security protocols put in place in preparation for the final.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Hammouchi, accompanied by a security delegation, examined every detail of the public security protocol for this decisive match, from the external arrangements related to the movement of supporters along the roadways leading to the stadium to the interior of the sports venue, including access areas with control and screening zones, all within an approach that combines security rigor with smooth and rapid stadium entry.
Explanations were also presented to the Director General regarding the high level achieved by the complementary mechanisms between human personnel and technological resources within the security protocols, notably the deployment of visual surveillance systems using fixed cameras and drones, as well as the integration of AI technologies for managing road traffic and identifying suspicious individuals.
Hammouchi also reviewed the security plan adopted even after the end of the match, which takes into consideration all possible security scenarios relating to the match’s results and anticipates all the required measures to secure the flow of supporters and accompany them on the public road, while guaranteeing the security of people, goods, and sports facilities.
During this visit, the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance expressed, in a direct manner, his deep appreciation for the high degree of professionalism and commitment of all national police officers for the optimal implementation of security protocols adopted by the General Directorate of National Security and Territorial Surveillance’s services to secure the numerous Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 activities.
On this occasion, he commended the efforts of all public force units, who efficiently contributed to securing the African football event, bolstering the prominence of the country on the continental and international levels, as well as highlighting Morocco’s security model in securing large-scale sporting events.
