Morocco’s Success in Africa Paves Way for Triangular Partnerships with France, Says Think-Tank.


Paris: Morocco’s significant achievements and initiatives in Africa present substantial opportunities for triangular partnerships with France, Thierry Montbrial, Founding President of l’Institut français de relations internationales (IFRI), stated.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Montbrial emphasized Morocco’s extensive efforts and accomplishments in Africa, noting their reach beyond the Sahel region. He highlighted the potential for France and Morocco to act as foundational pillars for a stronger continental relationship, expressing satisfaction with the recent improvement in bilateral relations and the mutual interest in restoring ties.

The geopolitical landscape necessitates collaboration between the two nations, Montbrial remarked, underscoring the joint responsibility for maintaining a sustainable and robust partnership. He advocated for a lasting and strategic alliance, particularly in regional security where both countries share interests and can complement each other.

Montbrial pointed out
that Africa’s security is intrinsically linked to its economic and social development, areas where Morocco and France can collaborate effectively. He also praised Morocco’s cultural heritage, acknowledging its influence on France and its contribution to cultural diversity.
