Morocco’s Top Police Chief Participates in Naif Arab University for Security Sciences’ Activities in Riyadh.


Rabat: Morocco’s National Security and Territorial Surveillance (DGSN-DGST) Director General, Mr. Abdellatif Hammouchi, in his capacity as a member of the Supreme Council of the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS), participated in the 50th session of the NAUSS Supreme Council annual meeting, as well as the official graduation ceremony for the 42nd batch of the University, which took place on November 12-14 in Riyadh.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the session of the NAUSS Supreme Council was marked by the adoption of the University’s new strategic plan 2025-2029, with a view to developing the teaching and scientific research environment to meet the new security challenges, the DGSN-DGST says cluster in a press release.

This session was also marked by the evaluation of the 2019-2023 periodic training strategy. In this respect, the efforts of the University, its specialized faculties and academic institutes in scientific research, artificial intelligence, cybercrime, forensics, leade
rship, crisis planning and management, in addition to supporting decision-making within security and police institutions, were highlighted.

On this occasion, Mr. Hammouchi presented his proposals and visions concerning the adoption of the new periodic training strategy 2025-2029, aimed at developing academic training in the police field, opening up to new scientific specialties, calling for efforts to be focused on improving the quality of training and supporting innovation to meet the expectations of citizens vis-à-vis the security services and be in tune with the challenges and new non-conventional threats.

The Council’s members examined the implementation of the new police training strategy, including financial sustainability, the strengthening of governance, the completion of the digital transformation project, as well as administrative development and the modernization of the institution’s structure in light of the objectives of the future training strategy.

The yearly meetings of the NAUSS Supreme Co
uncil coincide with the graduation ceremony for the 42nd batch of master’s and doctoral students at the University. In this respect, Mr. Hammouchi took part in the closing ceremony, chaired by Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Interior, HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, in presence of members of the University’s Supreme Council.

He also participated in the diploma awarding ceremony to graduates from several Arab countries, who are pursuing their higher education at the various faculties and specialized institutes run by NAUSS.

The University’s Supreme Council, chaired and sponsored by HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Minister of Interior, also includes the Secretary General of Arab Interior Ministers Council, Mohamed Bin Ali Koman, the President of the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, Abdulmajid Bin Abdullah Albanyan, as well as the presidents of specialized universities and academic institutes for police and technical training.

The Council, the highest de
cision-making body within this academic institution, is in charge of defining the University’s general policy, overseeing its scientific, administrative and financial affairs, and taking decisions to ensure optimal achievement of its objectives in police training and the various security sciences. NAUSS is an academic institution specialized in post-graduate training, with legal personality and diplomatic status. It is the scientific branch of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers in the fields of research and training in various academic fields and police, security and technical specialties.
