Morocco’s Upper House Deputy Speaker Meets Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly


Rabat: Deputy Speaker of Morocco’s House of Councillors Lahcen Haddad met on Monday in Rabat with Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, who is currently on a working visit to the Kingdom. The meeting was an opportunity to examine prospects for cooperation between the two friendly countries.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the meeting allowed both sides to reaffirm the strong historic ties between Morocco and Pakistan. The discussions focused on elevating these relations to a multidimensional strategic partnership, reflecting the positions of both nations on regional and international stages. Haddad emphasized promoting cooperation between the legislative institutions, particularly through exchanging experiences in legislative and oversight fields, and activating parliamentary friendship groups to support development processes in both countries.



The discussions also covered regional and international issues of common interest, especially those concerning the Islamic world. Both parties affirmed the importance of coordinating positions within international bodies to address issues of peace, sustainable development, and terrorism. They also explored new prospects for economic, scientific, and cultural cooperation in areas such as trade, higher education, renewable energy, skills training, and military cooperation.



The Speaker of the Pakistani National Assembly highlighted that these discussions mark a new cornerstone in establishing a solid strategic relationship based on mutual respect and common interests. This reflects the vitality of Moroccan-Pakistani relations and the willingness of both countries to enhance such ties.
