Morocco’s Water Inflows Reach 1.7 Million Cubic Meters Since September

Rabat: Morocco’s hydraulic basins have received a substantial volume of water resources, totaling 1.7 million cubic meters since the beginning of September, as reported by the ministry of Equipment and Water. Since December 12, 2025, a significant portion of this, approximately 1,348 million cubic meters, has been recorded, accounting for around 76% of the total inflows for the current season. This concentration of water inflows during a relatively short period underscores a notable pattern compared to the rest of the season.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the volumes of water discharged into the sea have reached 80.2 million cubic meters since December 12, which represents 5.9% of the total water received by the dams. These discharges have been distributed among several hydraulic basins, with the Sebou basin receiving the largest share of 29.1 million cubic meters. It was followed by Oum Er-Rbia with 26.5 million cubic meters, Loukkos with 9.7 million cubic meters, Tensift with 7.5 million cubic meters, Souss-Massa with 3.5 million cubic meters, Bouregreg with 3 million cubic meters, and Moulouya with 0.9 million cubic meters.

The data further indicates the relatively low volume of water discharged into the sea during the specified period, highlighting an efficient management of water resources across the country’s hydraulic basins.
