The Netherlands has welcomed Morocco’s “very positive” commitment in favor of peace in Libya, following the meeting of the 6+6 Joint Commission, which reached a compromise on the laws governing the presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled for the end of the year in this country.

“The Netherlands welcomes this very positive compromise in favor of peace in Libya,” the Dutch embassy in Rabat said in a tweet posted Wednesday after the meeting in Bouznika of the commission tasked by the Libyan House of Representatives and the High Council of State to draft the electoral laws.

The 6+6 joint commission announced on Tuesday evening that its members had reached a compromise on the laws governing the presidential and parliamentary elections after two weeks of meetings in Morocco.

Morocco continues its efforts to find a definitive solution to the Libyan crisis in order to ensure the unity, stability and progress of Libya and supports its efforts to organize elections in a comprehensive, inclusive and pragmatic framework.
