Nouaceur: In a pivotal speech during the launch ceremony for Safran Group’s new aircraft engine industrial complex, chaired by HM King Mohammed VI in Nouaceur, McInnes emphasized the complex’s role as a significant industrial link between France and Morocco. The facility will feature a maintenance site and an assembly line for the new generation LEAP aircraft engines, underscoring Morocco’s strategic importance to Safran.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, McInnes highlighted Safran’s long-standing presence in Morocco, which spans over 25 years. The Group operates a dozen sites within the country that are integral to its global production system, contributing to key activities such as aircraft engine maintenance, aeronautical wiring, and aircraft nacelles. McInnes noted that Safran’s investment and development in Morocco signify a collaboration rather than mere production outsourcing.
McInnes also remarked on the significance of the ceremony being presided over by the Sovereign, which underscores the importance that His Majesty the King places on the Kingdom’s industrial development. This event reflects the favorable investment environment fostered by the King’s forward-thinking vision.
He further recalled the French President’s State visit to Morocco, which reinforced the robust economic and industrial ties between the two nations. This visit resulted in a memorandum of understanding for establishing a new maintenance and repair workshop for Safran’s LEAP engines. McInnes affirmed Safran’s commitment to maintaining its strong partnership with Morocco.
“Together, we are committed to the development and economic acceleration of the Moroccan aerospace sector,” McInnes assured, expressing his delight in continuing the shared history between Safran and Morocco, which serves to advance aeronautical excellence and the Kingdom’s development.
