Milan, The National Space Science Agency (NSSA) represented Bahrain at the 75th International Astronautical Congress (IAC), held in Italy on October 14-18.

Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Aseeri, CEO of NSSA, affirmed the agency’s commitment to investing in national talent, in line with the royal vision. This initiative seeks to position Bahrain as a leader in the space industry by developing a sustainable sector that drives economic growth, diversification, and innovation, meeting both current and future needs.

Dr. Al Aseeri also noted that the agency’s participation in this year’s congress includes key activities such as attending Artemis Accords meetings, participating in United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs workshops, and presenting 21 research papers by NSSA members. The NSSA is also in the process of joining the Space Climate Observatory and engaging with leading space agencies and companies to enhance international cooperation.

The NSSA is participating in the inaugural global Space Leaders meeting
and the Space Generation Advisory Council meetings, aimed at fostering future leadership in the space sector.

Since joining the International Astronautical Federation in 2021, NSSA has taken on an active role, with six of its engineers selected for the Space Generation Advisory Council and one serving as a project leader at the international level. The agency has also earned several awards, underscoring its growing influence in the space field.
